On May 10, 2026, Budapest’s Szabadság Square came alive as the city gathered to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Hungary’s accession to the European Union. The day-long event brought together people from all walks of life for a packed schedule of concerts, a public running race, and diverse family activities.

Amidst the celebration, the Roma Rise project took center stage within a shared exhibition space, offering a unique blend of fun and advocacy. The project’s booth became a gathering point for inclusive and interactive engagement, where visitors of all ages participated in themed games and educational crosswords. While children collected commemorative stickers, adults had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about the project’s core mission: empowering Roma communities through modern education, digital innovation, and the promotion of positive representation.

The festival provided a powerful platform to share the message of inclusion and equal access to learning. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who stopped by to connect with us, helping to demonstrate that when we invest in opportunity and unity, we all rise together.
