On 30 June 2026, RCISD represented the RomaRise project at the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Book Fair 2026, organised by the University of East Anglia (UEA) as part of the Our Stories Matter and ROMLIT initiatives.

The event celebrated Gypsy, Roma and Traveller stories, creativity and community through a rich programme of authors, artists, workshops and discussions. RCISD attended the hybrid Fireside Discussion, which brought together authors, illustrators, researchers, universities, local authorities and community organisations to reflect on inclusive education, literacy and community engagement.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to learn from the experiences shared by speakers and to follow current initiatives promoting the inclusion and representation of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

Attending events like this also supports the RomaRise project's commitment to clustering and networking with initiatives that share similar objectives. Building connections across projects helps strengthen collaboration, exchange ideas and maximise the impact of our collective work towards more inclusive societies.
