As part of Work Package 2 (WP2) of the ROMA RISE Project, an RCISD representative participated in the International Training Programme hosted by ARSIS in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 3–6 June 2026. The four-day event brought together young participants and project partners from across Europe to strengthen the role of young Roma as ambassadors, mediators, and active citizens within their communities.
Through a combination of experiential learning, intercultural dialogue, and community engagement activities, participants explored key topics such as human rights, cultural diversity, social inclusion, and youth participation. The programme included workshops, visits to Roma communities, meetings with local stakeholders, and opportunities for participants to create their own journalistic and multimedia content. Particular emphasis was placed on developing leadership, mediation, and community action skills that can support positive change at the local level. The Thessaloniki meeting represented an important milestone in the implementation of WP2, further strengthening cooperation among project partners and contributing to the ROMA RISE mission of promoting inclusion, intercultural understanding, and active citizenship among young Roma across Europe.
