Young people aged 18–29 from across the Danube Region are invited to apply to join the Danube Youth Council (DYC) and have their voices heard in the implementation and future development of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).
The DYC provides young people with a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the Strategy’s priorities and activities. Members can bring forward their own ideas and initiatives, participate in EUSDR meetings and events, and engage directly with policymakers and other stakeholders across the Danube Region.
At RomaRise, we believe that meaningful youth participation is strongest when it reflects the diversity of young people and their communities. We therefore warmly encourage young people from different social, cultural and community backgrounds, including those whose perspectives are still too often underrepresented in decision-making, to explore this opportunity and consider applying.
Young people from the following countries and regions are eligible to apply:
- Austria
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Croatia
- Czechia
- Germany – Bavaria only
- Hungary
- Montenegro
- Republic of Moldova
- Serbia
- Slovakia
- Slovenia
- Ukraine – young people originating from Chernivetska, Ivano-Frankivska, Odeska or Zakarpatska Oblast are eligible regardless of their current location.
Having motivated and active young representatives from across the Danube Region is essential to ensuring that young people’s perspectives are genuinely reflected in the Danube Strategy.
Applications and full eligibility criteria are available at the bottom of the Danube Youth Council webpage.
The Danube Strategy Point has recently promoted two of our PA7 flagship projects through dedicated articles and social media posts:
GeoNetSee – AI, IoT & GNSS Geohazard Monitoring:
GeoNetSee uses AI, IoT and satellite-based technologies to improve the monitoring and early detection of geohazards, helping make the Danube Region more resilient to natural hazards.
HARMONMISSIONS:
HARMONMISSIONS strengthens cooperation across the Danube Region on climate action, supporting regions and cities in implementing EU Missions for climate adaptation and the transition towards climate-neutral and smart cities.
