A group of wonderful and motivated young people (future ambassadors of Roma identity and culture in Bulgaria and Europe) participated in a training course in Bansko (September 1-9, 2025). It was organized by the CEGA Foundation and the Roma-Lom Foundation under the Roma RISE project "Roma Resilience: Investing in Skills and Exchange," which aims to help young Roma acquire skills and knowledge to combat discrimination and claim their place and voice in society. The project is funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ program and is implemented in partnership with various organizations from Hungary, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece, and Romania.
On 25 October 2025, young volunteers from the Green Crescent (Yesilay) youth delegation visited the Albanian National Orphans’ Association (ANOA) to learn about its mission and programs supporting orphans and vulnerable youth across Albania.
ANOA also presented the Roma Rise project, an Erasmus+ initiative focused on empowering Roma youth, strengthening cultural identity, and promoting inclusion through education, leadership, and intercultural exchange.
On October 24, at 6:30, the European polyphonic radio station STARCLASSIC RADIO and the program THESSALONIKI POLYGLOT POLIS will host the ROMA RISE Program team in collaboration with POLYGLOTTI POLIS YOUTH TEAM.
The RomaRise project successfully hosted its first international policy roundtable, “Voices Rising – International Dialogue on Campaigns Against Anti-Roma Practices and for Roma Identity,” on 21 October 2025.
Organised online by the Roma-Lom Foundation (Bulgaria) and the Regional Centre for Information and Scientific Development (Hungary), the event brought together 44 participants from 18 countries, including representatives from universities, NGOs, municipalities, and international organisations.
The first International Training of the RomaRise project took place between 10–12 October 2025 in Budapest, Hungary, hosted at ImpactHub Budapest, Bura Galéria, and the UCCU Foundation.

An exceptional collaboration has begun within ARSIS, as part of the ROMA RISE project. Young men and women from the Roma and Balamos communities in the city and surrounding area. Art, culture, learning, and civilization in a workshop for mutual education, sharing, organizing actions, and social initiatives. Young people who will travel with us as ambassadors of Roma culture, members of the YOUTH TEAM POLYGLOTTI POLIS, social partners, program coordinators in Greece, all together in a deeply appreciative communication.
Even though it holiday season, a lot is already happening in the background. The RomaRise international team is actively preparing for the next phase of the project — from planning national and online trainings to coordinating travel, content, and community-building activities.
As part of the RomaRISE project, the Uccu Foundation and the possibilities for active participation by young people got to know each other. These fantastic Roma young people will be working with us over the next year, helping to shape the focus of our activities, participating in the implementation of tasks, and thus becoming shapers of Uccu's work themselves.
We are excited to share that the RomaRise project was recently introduced in Turkey during the Let Her In | Networking Event 2025. The event provided an excellent opportunity to present the aims and vision of RomaRise to a new audience, expanding awareness of the project and its mission to empower young Roma voices across Europe.
